Sidekicks

A world where the battle between good and evil manifested in a tech driven futuristic world as a constant struggle between Superheroes and their Arch Nemesis. In this world, the stories generally dwell on the "sidekicks". The young, the abandoned, the ignored, and the sidelined, most of these protagonist are heroes/stars in their own right, but for some reason or another are no more than "sidekicks" in greater character's stories.   Similar to our world in appearance, but with no limitations in possibilities. Here you may find humans, aliens, and magic beings all living under one roof with no question of its normalcy. One would think in a world of powerful beings and willful zealots eager to defend the common man there would be more justice not less, however that isn't the case in many places. A world built on corrupted morals can't easily attain such peace.   Some years ago the US government began it's first official hero program. While some would argue Super Heroes have existed in some form or another, others claim that the heroes that are all known and loved today are directly related to the Super Acts of 2012 and onward. With hero activity and power usage becoming more regulated and commercialized, the heroes of old were mostly deemed vigilante rogues and their actions retroactively disapproved of.   In modern days, heroes often work in gov't sanctioned or approved teams (similar to the workings of public institutions) but this all started after a mass battle that affected almost all species and beings found on or around earth that ended in the treaties and peace we have between mundane, magic, and alien now) and the rise of heroes on the wake of a badly crippled and troubled Earth.
