The Age of Eko's
History tells us of the Great Beasts of Creation emerging from the land, sky and sea. It is said they each harnessed amazing powers from beyond the Vale to birth life unto the barren world. From the insects on the ground to the birds in the sky, the Elk in the forests to the whales of the sea! Yet this life was not proof enough for some of these Beasts. The creations of the world were not capable of acknowledging the Beast's Powers! And so thus the five Races of this world were born, along with the First true Age!
But since… History has also told us of the disappearance of the Beasts of Creation… They could not succeed in creating perfect benevolence in their beloved races. The races began fighting one another. Some split apart, fighting their own Kith and Kin over land or small differences in beliefs. The once whole Auway(Elves) cast down those of their own who began worshiping the Moon instead of Au(Creator of the Elves). The Muutman(Dwarves) fought for who should rule the mountains. Each race having their own petty squabbles saddened the Beasts, spiraling some into a dark space. Evil had crept its way into the hearts of their precious peoples, and they had no choice but to use all their power to save them and the beautiful world they forged.
Their power set peace into the minds of the people, but it came with a great price. The Beasts faded into the Vale, never to be seen from again. The Second Age began, a Godless age of fragile peace and understanding. We are reminded of their love by the beautiful sparkling atmospheric anomaly we call “Shimmer” and the 1500 years of peace that has followed their departure.
Sadly, the fragility of this peace has only increased with the passing years. Old quarrels surfacing, curses brought upon foes of some, hierarchy’s branching out of reason.
War is on the lips of once peaceful civilizations, the innocent no longer having a place in the world, we have been forced to choose what side we fight for…
Small territory disputes, new amazing technologies, multiple expanding empires, nothing but adventure awaits anyone in the world of ShimmerVale.
