Shattered Seas

In the beginning the land of Thelas was whole and at its centre, a great sea. The world existed as such for millennia until a huge volcano, the ebonspire, arose from the central ocean and erupted with colossal force. The eruption shattered the monolithic landmass into the islands and continents known today.   Now home to many races and people, Thelas is entering a great age of exploration and fortune. Those seeking to start their lives of adventure flock to the seafaring capital of Blackport. Situated on the obsidian isle that was formed from the ebonspire’s eruption Blackport is the hub of all trade and other ‘business’ across the shattered seas.   Rumours have started to spread throughout the shattered seas of unnaturally fleeting, yet violent, storms. Most disregard these rumours as pirate tales meant to install fear in pursuit of controlling the ocean. Others however, believe there to be something more sinister, perhaps even supernatural, surrounding the stories told by those who claim to have survived an encounter with these strange storms.
