Alassaie

Alassaie is the second-largest continent on the world of Shaldor. Inhabited by many of the same races as Alatheia it differs from it in one important detail: The magic that seems to naturally permeate much of Shaldor has no hold here. Its inhabitants wrest what they need from nature with their bare hands and technology. Shipments of magical items brought here appear to lose their power once they are taken on land, and foreign spellcasters find it difficult to impossible to draw on the essences that allow them to work their magic. Nobody knows why this is and most of the inhabitants of Alassaie don't care, instead taking pride in their advances made without external aid.
