Banes

Although incredibly powerful, just like any other Supernatural Creatures Garou possess unique Banes which normal Mortals do not have to contend with.

Bane of the Apex Predator

All animals, will react violently when near a Garou. This Bane has no bearing on which Form the Garou is in as the animal is able to smell his true nature.

• Prey animals will attempt to do anything they can to escape.
• Domesticated animals will be uneasy around them, but due to their dulled senses will not see the Garou's true nature fully.
• Predators will react the same way as if they were crossing another predators path. They will size the Garou up and, if sensible, defend their territory.
• Canines and Wolves are the only animals who will not react violently to Garou and will even find a sort of kinship with them to some degree.

Bane of Silver

Silver is a deadly element to the Garou and is treated with caution and respect. 

• A Garou injured by silver will always treat the injury as being a Severity Level higher than it actually is. 
• A Garou who currently has silver lodged in the body (such as a silver bullet) is unable to heal and can only shapeshift into their Breed form. 
• A Garou holding silver unprotected will suffer 1 point of Superficial Damage each Turn, this includes any silver lodged into their body. 
• A Garou carrying silver items without using Gnosis to assist them (check Gnosis) is unable to manifest any of their Gifts. Silver lodged into the body from an injury does not count.
