House Elgata

A family with a pure Laan heritage, members of House Elgata have a regal bearing—and a reputation for verbal brutality. Ruthless but honest, it is clear that they consider themselves socially and genetically superior to everyone they deal with. They are not well liked as a group, but no one dares ignore them. Aldaran Elgata is no more or less haughty than the rest of his clan, though his ego has taken a bruising in recent years: House Elgata has not fared as well as some of its competitors in recent decades, losing several trade deals in the lucrative but competitive timber trade. That was until just last year, when Aldaran had a dramatic turnaround, snatching the major Rhakhaan timber contract from Houses Jurgon and Maledaar, and securing an exclusive. But now Elgata has suffered a family tragedy: Aldaran’s twin brother has been murdered, possibly an act of vengeance by a rival.
