LAN Van

The "LAN Van" refers to the vehicular set-up used by HSMBC Black Hat's cyber-security teams. The LAN Van's specifications are reviewed annually to update them with the state-of-the-art electronic surveillance and cyber warfare tools. They are used to provide digital support for ground operations or to track down and troubleshoot particularly elusive problems. Many sport an assortment of low latency communications antennae, though some models hide or disguise them in various ways. They also contain hard line connectors to act as mobile secure servers to support static ground operations.
The actual vehicles converted to LAN Vans varies. They are typically converted civilian transports designed to blend into regular traffic, and appear inconspicuous when not in use. They are painted matte black or low-vis gray and sport no logos or identifying marks, and have polarized AR windows to hide their contents. LAN Vans are not typically armed though the vehicles are supplemented with military grade armor panels, and may feature more advanced defensive countermeasures.
Unlike most HSMBC's paramilitary assets, LAN Vans are not typically available for lease or purchase.
