Boeing Leviathan
The Boeing Leviathan is the largest ocean-going vessel ever constructed. Operated by Confederated Boeing, It is a miniature city on its own and serves as a mobile deep-sea resource extraction and manufacturing platform. It has taken part in large scale Boeing construction projects around the world, and also dredges the oceans to produce a steady supply of rare-earth minerals for the corporation.
History
Originally built in the Samsung HI Shipyard, as a joint venture between Boeing and Samsung (prior to their acquisition by Huawei), the Leviathan was to be a prototype for a new type of mobile petrochemical processing center. By allowing refinery and processing to take place close to oil platforms, the Leviathan would greatly reduce the cost of transportation and logistics, and allow for the profitable exploitation of smaller oil and natural gas reserves. However, stockholders lost interest in the project during the Petro Crisis of the 2020's in favor of nuclear and alternative fuel sources. During this time, Samsung cashed out of the project, and Boeing converted the prototype Leviathan platform into a mobile resource extraction and manufacturing plant.
