Delong Nomads

These tecoilian nomads live in the desert dunes where the devil himself fears to tread. They are known for their unique multi-armed fighting style and their sheer temerity. They look the giant dune crocodiles in the face and make moonshine from their guts. If they don't have a monster of the week to battle, they'll happily battle each other. Insult a delong nomad's hospitality and prepare to meet the next dawn.   Somehow between fighting, racing across the dunes in sandships, and drinking, they find the time to be master weavers. Massive tents, blankets, rugs, and other textiles flow to life under the delongs' shuttles in blinding speed. Bring them a silk brocade from Luenlan and they'll pick it apart and re-weave it into a translucent gauze as heavy as a breath and strong as steel.   They are the Loremasters' best friends (as long as they're presented with a challenge of sufficient interest), sifting through the desert sands to uncover treasures lost to time and knowledge. Their sandships slide through narrow canyons and across silicate seas with equal ease, mapping the shifting landscapes of their world.   They have a name for every star in the sky and even the youngest child knows their patterns by heart. They have fifteen different designations for sand, and no concept of a body of water larger than an oasis. Their arid home is their paradise.   Their word for "outsiders" roughly translates to "crocodile bait tourists," but if you seem interesting enough you might be allowed to hitch a ride on a sandship to your destination. Or the middle of the dunes. After all, you're a crocodile bait tourist.   When it comes to trade, they rarely bother to deal with other species, but will readily engage with other tribes of more stationary tecoile who have built settlements in the rocky regions. They don't care overmuch for these lands, as they're nearly impossible to traverse with a sandship, and other means of transportation are just dirt boring.
