Hell Reverse - Part 16

31, First April

"What is your name?"

They had found the boy trying to climb over the Gates of Hell. Traditionally, no one tried to actively break into the land of the dead without a purpose. Attempts at interrogative methods had failed, as he had yet to say a word. With all other options exhausted, he had been brought before Osiris.

Now Osiris had not been awake for very long, and his new status of actually living turned out to be hinged upon sleep. He was not particularly fond of this- or the murky brown liquid Lucifer had continued to hand him. Baal insisted it was coffee, but it tasted god-awful to the deity, and he refused to drink it.

The boy was squirming before him, clearly unhappy. He had been a poorly treated guest of Hell for perhaps a week, perhaps longer. It was hard to tell, time was so fickle.

"What is your name?" Osiris repeated. The child's face grew darker, and Osiris practically growled in his general direction. All he wanted to do was go back to sleep.

"We can just give him one." Lucifer offered, hovering on the side of the room.

"It doesn't work that way." Osiris sighed. "There are rules that have to be followed."

"But-"

"You have to know his name to kill him. Otherwise you're gonna end up killing some other idiot."

"This is true." Lucifer agreed. The child was still trying to wiggle out of his binds. He was wholly unsuccessful. "I can make a few calls."

"Do it."
