Hat Adventures

"Oh come on, don't be such a killjoy." Reyna was laughing at him, Spade was sure of it. Her eyes would get wide and Gaia only knew how much he liked it.

Yet, that was not going to convince him to go shopping, of all things. With her, and Deceit, in the middle of Hell's second busiest district. He didn't know if the girls had really thought it through. It was almost if they were trying to get him to turn them in. After all, it had only been a couple of weeks since Spade had lost a bet with Deceit. It was a dumb bet, but she was a girl and therefore should have lost, dammit. Of course, the result was for him to go out to dinner with Reyna.

(He was pretty sure st, it was one of the best nights he had had in a long while. So one night turned into another and another and now this. She was fucking insane. Shopping, in the middle of broad daylight- with her almost professor.

"Stop your internal bitching and let's go." Deceit mumbled, pushing on the back of his chair harder than she should have. Less than a moment later he was on the floor, unhappy.

Fucking Natives. It's not like he could complain- the girl was only a half breed, and he would have done worse. He had done worse. But he couldn't get distracted right then. Not from Reyna and dating and he was a professor! There had to be something in his ethics procedure that was against this.

"Honestly," Reyna helped- dragged- him up from the floor and smiled. She was doing the thing he liked- again. There was no winning this, not for him.

"It's not like us three going out means you're dating. Friends do things together, y'know." And there was Deceit, putting the final nail in the coffin of his argument.

"Fiiine." He huffed, grabbing his house keys from a hook near the door. It was a fifteen minute walk from his apartment to the [elephant:city center]. Most of it passed in quiet conversation between him and Reyna. Deceit stayed a couple steps ahead at any given time, but he thought nothing of it.

Their first stop was a stop in the same way a bus without wheels was still a mode of transportation. Reyna had stopped abruptly, and all but dragged him into the nearest shop. It took a few moments for Deceit to realize she had lost them, and backtrack. In that time, Reyna has taken a hold of the first hat she could find, and thrown it on his head. It was an annoying shade of green with an even brighter shade of blue stripes. Of course, when he went to take it off, she frowned, so he let it be. That was, until the bell rang again and Deceit stepped in.

"Don't you like his new hat?" Reyna asked, keeping just out of arm's reach from Spade.

"It's missing something." Deceit confirmed with a nod. Reyna tracked down a fake mustache, and that was the next thing to attack his face. Only when it was there, did both girls nod in agreement.

"Perfect."
