FFM9: Small Moments

"What is that noise!" Vulcan hissed, giving Eris a dirty look. He was sprawled out on her table, for no good reason other than to bother her.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Eris glanced over her coffee cup, pushing up the sleeves of her dressing gown. Vulan didn't look convinced.

"Suuuure." He rolled his eyes, and went to dig around the couch for the source of the god forsaken noise. Somehow, it turned out to be at the very bottom. Vulcan held the device, searching fruitlessly for the off button.

"No, really."

"I don't believe you."

"I blessed a girl because she taught me how to use a coffee pot." Eris deadpanned.

"YOU KNOW HOW TO USE ONE?"

"Yes."

"You don't even make your own coffee."

"But I know how. That's important."

"Sure it is." He banged the toy against the table for good measure. The tiny yellow toy made even more concerning noises. "Where do you even get these things?"

"They just kind of show up." She shrugged. "Kinda like you."

"Hush."

"Why? Afraid to be a lost toy?" Eris tossed her cup into a nearby bucket. The plastic crumpled quickly.

"Shut. Up." He hissed. Instead, Eris nicely shoved him face first into the sofa. Like many things, it had just a appeared one day and never left. She turned the toy upside down and clicked the power switch into the off position.

"Just because your daddy doesn't like you doesn't mean you get to be a drama queen."
