Centaurs

Lore

Native to Graecia centaurs have the body of a great horse topped by a humanoid torso, head, and arms. Roamers at heart, centaurs love open spaces and the freedom to travel. As much as they can, centaurs run. They race the wind, hooves thundering and tails streaming behind them. They tend to avoid conflict as best they can but fight fiercely when pressed.   They stand around 9 feet tall and normally weigh 950 kilograms. Centaurs are a strong and proud race. Although they typically strive to find peace and balance with nature, they can act with violence when the need arises. Despite this desire for balance, centaurs have to eat a lot to fuel their large bodies and are known to overindulge, especially with wine and ale. A drunken centaur is much more prone to aggressive and violent behavior.   Although some are solitary, centaurs generally live in tribal hunter-gatherer societies. Those that feel a sense of wanderlust to explore the world made excellent companions and occasionally would offer a ride to allies. The suggestion that they be used as pack animals however is met with derision.
