Uglie
Uglies are giant, scorpion-like monsters that inhabit caves throughout Sephran.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Uglies have two powerful claws and a venomous tail that can dig through and tear apart loose rock. They also have an exoskeleton with six additional legs.
Biological Traits
When exposed to UV light, they glow.
Genetics and Reproduction
Females have about twenty-five offspring per clutch after gestating for several months. They give birth sometime in the spring or summer.

Dietary Needs and Habits
Eats lizards, fish, rodents, snakes, and salamanders by either crushing them or killing them with its venomous stinger. They are ambush predators that remain motionless until a suitable victim has moved into an ambush zone.

Adult uglies molt five times a year as they grow.
Behaviour
Uglies have an extremely vicious disposition and will attack anything up to twice their size if they get too close, even members of their own species unless they recognize the scent.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Most uglies are pale gray due to their lack of pigment. Babies have little to no pigment at all and are transparent for their first year of life before growing into a proper exoskeleton.
