Causes

Midnight's Madness comes from those who take an incorrect dilution of the flower, Midnight's Moon Blossom.

Symptoms

Victims will start to suffer from lack of sleep and dark circles will appear under their eyes. They will also start to have hallucinations of possible futures. Sometimes they see things that are very far off as well. They will also slowly lose the ability to speak complete sentences. They will eventually have violent outbursts trying to warn people of dangers only they can see.

Treatment

Victims of Midnight's Madness cannot be cured, but things can be done to help alleviate the side effects of the condition. Allowing a victim to have pen and paper always nearby for them to write out the possible futures they see helps reduce them accosting strangers and foretelling them of some unknown doom. Also victims who eat strawberries seem to be able to handle the visions better than those who don't. No reason has been found for why this is the case, but research is still being done on this matter.

Prognosis

Midnight's Madness worsens overtime. The final stages have the victim seeing things that are not there, but believing that they are occurring in front of them. The victim can no longer take care of themselves and they will eventually fade away. Some have speculated that the victims are transported into the future while others believe it is just another form of death.

Prevention

Prevention methods are simple since to even make the correct the concoction is dangerous. It is also regulated by the herbalists guild themselves to allow only a few practitioners to make the concoction.

Cultural Reception

Those stricken with Midnight's Madness are taken care of by their family if they have them. Some who come down with Midnight's Madness will offer their services of seeing visions of the future before they become fully insane and cannot interpret what they see. Others that are not as fortunate are avoided and live on the streets.
