Tiregarda

On the western border with Ondar lies the town of Tiregarda. The elves of the settlement have forsaken life in the trees. They believe that other avenues of kinship with nature exist, such as running with creatures of the forest. While kinship with any creature of the forest is accepted, the followers of predators tend to look down on those who follow prey animals. All elves are safe from harm from other elves, but outsiders wishing to live there are sometimes abused if following the way of passivity. The largest group in Tiregarda follow the way of the wolf. They are the only group of elves known to eat meat, though they do still supplement it with more traditional elven sources of flora. Followers of the wolf believe that elfkind is their pack, and Aenuleria their territory. Raids from Ondar have resulted in the town existing there, as they patrol the western border.     The people of Tiregarda dress in homage to the path and animal they follow. Wolf-kin decorate with the fur of wolves, favoring the tawny colors if such bodies are found. Each animal kin group disallows hunting as a whole, or at the least of its own animal. Followers of predators do permit their members to defend themselves, however. Hunters who lie about defending to justify the slaying of the protected animal are harshly punished. Ornamentation of other animal kin tend to follow suite with skins, furs, or sometimes by creating the appearance of their animal by weave or paint. Homes in the town are most diverse in Tiregarda than elsewhere. Some buildings are still shaped from great oaks, others are large burrows, and some are shallow cave homes. It is not seen as unusual for some families to freely roam the woods, merely staying close to the town itself.

Government

Despite the unusual tendencies of the settlement, Tiregarda is recognized as a city-state in the realm. The official ruler is Teyani Ardatir. He is the most respected of the town, with many years spent protecting the border. Ardatir is the alpha of the wolf-kin, who follow his word on all matters. When away to voice the views of Tiregarda on the Council of Loinnir the town is led by his mate, Yalandra. They largely leave the people free to live their lives as their path calls. The only real exception to this is to handle anything that may threaten the safety of the town or the realm.
