Grenharth

The town of Grenharth is located in the southeastern region of the realm. In this area the trees begin to thin, as the habitat blends into the plainlands of Rishan. Sparsity of thick trees has resulted in other construction material being used. The dark soil of the region gives mud bricks a similar coloration as the nearby trees, which is what the people of Grenharth use. Loose soil is placed on the roofs, and shrubbery planted. This gives the buildings a look akin to an unusually shaped tree. Most often berry bushes are used for shrubbery, which also supplements the surrounding farms. Being so close to the fertile plainlands allows a great deal of space for use in growing crops, which the community makes use of. The close proximity to Rishan is the primary reason behind the creation of the town.   Halflings physically resemble elves in many ways, save height and lifespan. The elven belief for this similarity is that they share a common creator in the Lost Sister. While the elves do view them as less than a true elf, they feel the connected lineage means they possess at least part of an elven soul. Such a thing requires that there be an outreach from the elven realm to any halflings who wish to reconnect with their roots.

Government

Teyani Ashandor is the voice of the people of Grenharth. He has watched the roaming tribes of the halflings with interest for many years. Some say the carefree demeanor of the tribes is why he so lightly influences the lives of his people. So long as the lives and well-being of the townsfolk are not threatened, Ashandor will not interfere in any matters of his people. At council meetings in the capital, he is a fiercely vocal critic of any decisions that might inhibit any freedoms of elf-kind.
