Aurandis

South of Loch Loinnir flows many streams toward the Fog Sea. The higher elevation of the region to sea level results in the streams cascading down many small waterfalls on the way to the sea. Aurandis is nestled in the center of that waterfall delta. Prismatic rainbows are seen on all but the stormiest of days. This has brought many elves to the city, to bask in the sight that many elves consider to be the last display of magic from the water of The Lady. Buildings are primarily shaped great oaks, with the few Mor’Gren being utilized as meeting halls, churches, or homes of prominent figures. Any buildings within sight of the prismatic falls are the most sought after.

Government

Aurandis is led by Teyani Kyrantis and Teyani Talahel. The two generally get along quite well, but have differing views on stringency of law. Talahel wishes to impact the people are little as possible with rules. Kyrantis wishes to safeguard the people and provide for them via codified rules. The duo generally ends up coming to a compromise on matters of the settlement. Most residents appreciate the dichotomy of the ruling councilors, as it results in laws that minimally impact freedom.

Guilds and Factions

The southern falls on the sea cliffs are home to the Temple of the Lady. It is the second holiest site to the elves, after Loch Loinnir itself. Elven dead are cremated in the temple, and their ashes scattered into the waters to flow into the sea. The act is viewed as returning the soul to the flow of the water that it came from. Only the ashes of the greatest of elves is allowed to be spread into Loch Loinnir. Death by submersion is performed in Loch Loinnir, but the body is taken to the Temple of the Lady in Aurandis.
