Ard’byeel

High Home, or Ard’byeel in the elven tongue, is located on the northern edge of Loch Loinnir. It is considered to be the birth place of all elves. Wishing to remain close to their place of origin, the ancient elves worked to create a home worthy of being in sight of the holy light. The trees themselves are considered to get their considerable vitality from the lake, in similar fashion as the elves themselves. With no clear way to differentiate between what creatures of the region share that bond, the people forbid all killing of any Aenulerian living thing. To construct great homes worthy of being close to the lake, practitioners of nature magic shape the wood of the Mor’Gren. Wood that is shaped to hollow out sections of the great trees is used to create sturdy roadways between other great trees. Care is taken so that the life of the tree is not threatened by the new form. By such reshaping, all Mor’Gren in the capital are connected. The people of the city consider it to be very symbolic, in that all life is connected. The prohibition on killing also means that no meat is served in the city. Meals consist of berries, fruits, nuts, and vegetables. No fires are allowed within the city, due to the risk such a flame spreading. Roads are unlit, save for the light from the lake itself. Homes are sometimes lit with enchant light orbs, though most simply retire after sunset to rest.

Government

The city is ruled over by Teyani (Councilor) Dallonir, though he brings all matter that might affect the whole of the realm before the Council of Loinnir. Dallonir leaves the people to their own devices, save to lend help where needed. He is described as a humble leader, who is saddened by the rift that occurred long ago. To that end, an embassy was created to further talks of reconciling the elven people. While no progress has been made, the gemcraft masterpieces of the exiles does filter through the embassy. The impressive works sell for a great deal, in both wealth and favors. Many residents still harbor a desire to keep the Ard’nisse exiled, but sentiment to the opposite has been growing. Visits from the High Cleric of the Lady to the embassy have further lent hope to Dallonir at a possibility of reunification.
