This world is an alternate timeline to our very own with the exception of a magic. The exact date of the birth of this magic was unknown, but one thing was for certain, it began when almost two millennia ago, a magical meteor crashed. Within that meteor was a stone that after crash landing into earth, imbued the whole thing with magic.   This magic eventually seeped into almost everything, living and non-living. After a century, the magic, that was then ever present, then evolved in many ways. It created the affinity system, which was something designate everything magical to an element(Light, Dark, Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Lightning, Ice & Nature) with a few exceptions. Then it opened a racial evolution tree to most life forms(except humans and a few other species). It transformed some creatures that we now into beautiful (and a lot of time terrifying) beasts of legends. It even formed another system of magic separate from affinities, Ki. However, this was only the beginning, because the sudden surge of magic exposed this world to the spirit realm, further changing it in the process. Due to this, the dead may now roam the mortal realm once more (but with some ramifications of course). Because of both planes of existence connecting, this also unlocked another system of magic, soul magic.   As time passed and as the changes died down, the stone was then hidden to the world until a random person found it. After finding out about its powers and how it can create seemingly anything, this person then used these powers for good,originally. But after a combination of immortality, massive hoards of riches, anguish of the death of loved ones and being fed up with the world's evils, this same person eventually fell into hopeless despair and slowly became corrupted by what he had obtained. Then, just like that, he plunged the world into chaos with the hopes of purging its evils. However, he couldn't do this alone, so he used the stone of wishes power to create seven spirits to help in his quest to purge the world. These spirits were the embodiment of the destruction caused by and upon all sapient beings, such as Agony, Chaos, Corruption, Deceit, Despair, Fear, . These then found hosts, transforming seven of the world's champions into the Lords of Armageddon.   However, as Newton's third rule states, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." This reaction comes in the form seven who refuse to see humanity(including demi-humans and beastmen) get wiped out by these people claiming to purify the earth. This rebel group of eight then became the Eight Beacons of Hope. They then somehow were able to sneak away the Stone and then wished for weapons that allow them to defeat the Lords of Armaggedon, weapons that after a wielder dies, go to someone new who is worthy of their power. After waging a bloody, brutal, and bitter war, these warriors eventually triumphed against the seven and their leader. Seeing how the Stone of Wishes possessed extremely destructive abilities, the seven decided that they should put it into safe keeping. So all seven had temples built on six sides of the country with their weapons placed upon a pedestal within, as to act as a barrier so that none of the spirits may get near to the stone. However, this was not still safe enough so the seventh wished for a powerful stronghold right in the middle that was protected by powerful magic.   Centuries later, these heroes have become mere legends and a young mage decides to venture for the stone.
