Uman System
One of the three core systems of the Asmaran Federation, Uman is the economic hub and trade nexus of the federation.
It's home to one terrestrial planet, its namesake, which orbits the gas giant Kut. At it's center is a standard yellow star.
Its standard lanes connect it to Doha, Tangah, and Kamchatka.
Poised as the gateway between the arm stars and the triad, it developed into a major trade hub in the region. Many trade corps rise and fall often in the system, but the greatest of them stand tall as some of the most influential groups in the Sector. The most powerful extend beyond Asmaran space.
Most of these groups and their fleets are based around the gas giant Kut, in a collective of orbital stations and bases on small moons. While they operate with little oversight from Uman, the Federation’s enforcers ensure law is maintained. The largest of these is the Umanian Trade Union, responsible for three fifths of all the hauling done in Asmaran space.
These corps make the majority of their money from fleet, or “swarm”, freighting; due to the unviability of bulk freighting, a large fleet of smaller ships are employed to ferry large amounts of material through intersystem space.
