Root

The main settlement of Torres, a sedentary city in the roots of a giant tree that protects it from the powerful monsoons of the world. With a population of about thirty thousand, it's easily the largest settlement on Torres, and other groups, both sedentary and migratory, travel to Root to trade.
The majority of Root is build into the wood of massive roots, just above a fresh water lake. The waters are calm year round, protected by the mega-fauna above.
Root maintains the only viable port for ships landing on Torres. It designates a large portion of lake for ships to land in, meaning only ships capable of aquatic landing and take off can land in Root.
