Sea of Contention

A set of lands recovering from a brutal war, between 2 superpowers, both of whom were dissatisfied with the conclusion. A relatively new nation, the Triarch Empire invaded the island nation of Demin, the ancestral home of the elves. The elves asked for aid from the kingdom of Bastille and their ally the grand city-state, Clarone, creating the Eastern Coalition.   The war lasted several years, destroying much of the large forest that occupied the island. It bled to the archipelago to the south, the Tripols, leading to the near extinction of the native yuan ti population.   Armistice was reached after a large magical catastrophe destroyed the elven capital of Io'Demin, with both armies terrified of whatever mysterious power had irrevokably changed the land around the city.   Games take place primarily in the port city of Clarone, their tributary village of Twinforks, and the Tripols archipelago. Factions such as the princes of Clarone, the Spicer Guild and the Arcanicum Principaliea vie for dominance over trade and influence as the different government's quietly rebuild to go to war again.
