Additional Information

Social Structure

Two authority figures decide for a tribe; The Chief, body, and the Lore-Gnoll, mind. The Chief is a Gnoll who either became it from respect, renown, strength, or challenged the previous Chief and won. The Lore-Gnoll is like an advisor to the Chief, and is chosen for their wisdom, experience, or knowledge. While the Tribe-Chief has final say in matters, if a tribe disagrees with their Chiefs decisions, he can be challenged in 1-1 combat for his position. If the Chief wins, the matter is settled, and the tribe listens. If the Chief loses, the challenger becomes the new Chief.

Due to Gnolls being more susceptible to mutations in their genes, the differences between male and female gnolls are circumstantial, Gnolls just tend to do whatever job they wish.

Courtship Ideals

It depends on the occupations and interests of each individual pair, but similar to the northerners style of an Ornate Axe, a Gnoll interested in another Gnoll will gift them with an Ornate Spear, Pottery, Jewelry, Carving, Etc. These gifts are tailored to the individual, and are a pretty big deal in the culture.

Relationship Ideals

Gnolls seek a strong mate to share life with; a strong connection between the two gnolls, and a trust between the two, are what is most desired for Gnolls.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

The Gnolls learned to speak from the ruins that are spread throughout the south; Ancient Northerner ruins, the Gnolls speak a fractured version of it, incorporating their own interpretations of the words, and the noises they make.

Based on Tribal culture like Africans

History

The Gnolls are native to Morven, having evolved and spread across the entire south lands. The grew and advanced at an impressive rate, but it was too fast. A devastating Famine spread throughout the south, resulting in the destruction of two tribes, the deaths of many gnolls, and some tribes turning on eachother. With the sudden plummet in population, and with the remaining tribes pushing away from eachother to maintain their own areas, the southerners are on a path of recovery; but the terror the famine brought still sits in the minds of many gnolls.

Historical Figures

Chief Big-Fist and Lore-Gnoll Utvel, the two responsible for sending out the various gnoll groups that eventually formed the 11 tribes.
