A Great Tragedy

//HA Celestine-331: Two cycles ago, we lost contact with Cascade as an incredible dust storm billowed over that region. When the dust settled, the entire city was no longer there. We used the Maverick Core aboard the Havenstay to manifest a primed mining charge. Seismometers indicated that the detonation occured almost twenty three miles south of the city. We found the Core, and retrieved it. But we couldnt find anything else. The whole city was ripped up and scattered through the wind.   //HA Celestine-331: Prior to this event we had yet to see anything of this scale, but it showed us that we were not welcome on this world. I sincerely doubt we will be leaving any time soon, so we are increasing our foundational depth by a significant margin, and placing a bio-sphere reinforced with steel plating over all settlements. This will set our colonization back by a very significant margin as more resources will be required to stay safe on the surface.   //HA Celestine-331: Agria, do we have a definitive number on the amount of people lost in this disaster? Request a full damage report.   //AGRIA MODULE: Yes, 11,312 lives were lost according to the city roster. Temporary residents were not counted, and so the actual death toll is likely higher by anywhere between 200 and 400. Furthermore, no ruins of Cascade have been discovered so far. All resources save for one MAVERICK Core were lost. The most notable of these resources was a Warp Star still in its infancy. The OVERWATCH has specifically requested that you keep a watch out anomalous energy signatures within an area around the original settlement, as the soil is fairly suitable for Warp Star development.   //HA Celestine-331: Once Foundation is fully established, we will build a memorial there in honor of the pioneering spirits lost to the ground. Today we know to Fear the ground. In other, hopeful news; the Maverick Cores allocated to the Endeavor and Foundation teams are both online, and we are sending them resources as we speak to erect proper colonies. In most of these colonies Im afraid we wont be able to lift population control due to space restraints. As a result only ten percent of the populace will be designated "Progenitors" and be allowed to procreate. Such a status will be decided at birth and all other civilians will be given regular sterilization treatments. If a city requires more or less Progenitors, then we can take certain people off the treatment and they will become virile after about 97 Cycles.   //HA Celestine-331: We currently have plans in effect to establish five more colonies before our initial resources run out. Then we will rely on foundation to supply us with construction supplies. I do not plan to make a log for every single city we establish, instead I will simply store the clerical recorda I already have to do within Agria, and save these for more urgent events like what happened to Cascade. Within the next fifty cycles, I should be able to begin study on the ruins that dot the globe.
