Planet Earth (Verdant)

In the Verdant Universe, Earth was overcome by a powerful cult during World War I that used magic to call forth the Elder God of Undeath. Before the war it was a planet with a thriving magical society combined with industrial advances. It had several large portals constructed that allowed humans to travel across space to the planet Parthas which was discovered when the large magical energy waves it emits finally reached Earth. However as society on Parthas advanced, it crumbled on Earth leading to the First World War, which was cut short by a powerful cult. Now, centuries have passed and Earth has slipped into distant history and even myth or is completely forgotten by newer societies.

Geography

This earth has a desolate landscape writhe with dead forests and empty plains. There are still some areas that have returned to a wild state full of lush forests that have grown over abandoned cities.

Fauna & Flora

Several forests are dead from the impacts of the World War as well as dark magic. Other locations have been left to run wild and are lush and untouched. There are curious cases of undead plant life that have overrun areas of the planet, these are invasive and quickly overwhelm health living plant life as well as animal life.
