Oun's Crossing
Located in nearly the dead center of the continent of Es'Caerta, Oun's Crossing is functions as a major junction point for trade throughout the continent. Connecting Ard Mordan, and therefore White Harbor, with Tel'Sara, Lyndor, Red Meadow and the Red Lift, Oun's Crossing serves the kingdom as a trading post, and a resting point for weary merchants.
Government
Oun's Crossing is under the control of the Brighthammer Kingdom. Local Authority rests with the Trade Master, a male gnome by the name of Gennic Luckspring. He and his staff are responsible for collecting taxes on, and reporting on the amount of, goods entering and leaving the kingdom.
Defences
Walls: The town is surrounded by a low wooden and earthen wall, resting about 10 feet tall at its highest.
Guard: Oathbound guard patrol the town at all hours, answering to the Trade Master as their authority figure.
Industry & Trade
Taverns and rest stops are the towns main source of income beyond being a trading post. In the land between major cities, Oun's Crossing grants respite to the weary or the aimless provided they have the coin. Beyond that some farms and fishing can be found nearer to Lake Oun.
History
Oun's Crossing was established shortly after the end of the Aarakocran-Dwarf wars in the 419th Year of the First Era. Built and maintained by the Dwarven Kingdom, the settlement and the lake nearby was named in memory of the late Aarakocran king, Oun Silverwing.
