Eel's Reach

Eel's Reach is primarily known for its large export of the local species of Medini Eels, a cultural delicacy for the region. A major fish-monger city, Eel's Reach often reeks of local fish. Its near equatorial location does keep its weather temperate. It has been the subject of several changes of control between the nation of New Sotaria and Rentar. The people in this city tend to focus on form over function in most of what they do, many homes are made out of mixtures of driftwood and discarded boat parts and the fashion has been canvas pants for the better part of a century. This city holds another major purpose as it is a gateway to Fane, and the eastern part of the continent of Lohora, which is bisected by the Hhun Mountains and the Akhet Dessert. Technically it is currently under the control of the Rentar Nation, however, it's hold is very weak.
This city is held by a regional lord named Lord Percy Fisherson. The Fisherson Family has held a position of authority over the Eel's Reach city-state for as long as the city has existed. The regional god over this location is called Okeanos and the locals often pray to him with elaborate shanties. Its not uncommon to hear a shanty sung throughout the city during the major fishing seasons of their most profitable fish. 
Many ocean folk find refuge in this city, creating a major diversity in both fishers and people of the sea like Axolotians, Crab Folk, Sea Elves, Tritons, ect. Magic is rarely used as it's considered too effective during the fishing process, but, there are a few mages here who use the port location to study storms and ocean magic.
