Mahn

Mahn is a word that represents all sentient races on Saudade from each of the eight Disignos, both male and female. In every Disigno, the mahn who live there reflect the desires and nature of the member of the Seven Melodies that brought them into existence. Depending on their native Disigno, the biology, morphology, and lifestyle of the resident mahn can vary wildly.

Civilization and Culture

History

After the Seven Melodies sectioned the planet Saudade into their respective domains, they began to shape the extant natural world, both living and non-living into an image they found pleasing. Having been spread out over the planet, the Melodies desired sentient life to exist within their realms. Thus, mahn was created, both wermahn and wivmahn, or colloquially, male and female. Though the Melodies do not claim responsibility for the spawning of sentient life, the mahn living in their Disignos were shaped into the natures of the Melodies, as was the rest of the environment.
