Sarun

Most creation stories were born in silence. This world fell back into that very silence. The gods abandoned it, and their subjects started losing faith as the generations saw a world unforgiving without redemption and forgiveness. The people are still young species, but have grown and matured quick due to this catalyst. There have been many apocalypses that have warped this world into a very turbulent landscape. Where dead heroes are all too common, and the forces of malicious intent blossom, fester unbeknownst to civilization. Sarun is vast, possessing continents of varying ecosystems ranging from its clusters of archipelagos with unbridled life to vast and desolate tundra landscapes. The arid deserts to humid rain forests. And the flowing warm plains to harsh frozen lands of the vale. Sarun is a vast world that has much left undiscovered. At least to modern civilizations...   "This world we live in is harsh and unforgiving... but it is what drove me to action. Where the planes of existence hook onto parts of the material plane and intertwine, pouring into one another. These places are many, but some are where civilization has built cities to guard, monitor, and supervise these lingering hooks. Magic bleeds into the essence of this world because of these enigmatic portals. It is common to see many sorcerers and magical entities form the structures of society. Religion is plenty in this world due to many divine beings interfering in this wild landscape. Many scholars believe the amount of divine intervention is what causes ripples and shifts in the planar divides causing these portals to form.   "Be weary adventurers, beyond the walls of civilization rests a world of both treasure and treachery alike. The very earth is in constant turmoil, so the elements are a force to be reckoned with. Natural disasters occur more often relative to earth standards, paired with magical anomalies, create for a perilous ventures into the wilds.
