Aliden Forest

Most of Aliden Forest is made up of strange rumors. The Tabaxi, lizardfolk, Yuan-ti, Tortles and Kenku that come out of the forest are the "normal" ones that were outcasts from their tribes. The tribes themselves have their own languages and customs that seem to make no sense to anyone outside of the forest. There is strong magic around the forest. The leading rumor for that is the tombs of Empyreans are the source of the magic, similar to the Dragons in Enseer, but this is unconfirmed. The Empyreans are long since dead if they ever did exist, and there are much more dangerous things to come out of Aliden Forest than that. Fortunately, the Aliden Forest does have an almost legendary team of heroes called Sarnil's Shield who hunts down and defeats the most dangerous monsters that Aliden has to offer. They have existed for centuries, and have emerged to fight threats elsewhere in Sarnil, but they stick to where the monsters are (supposedly) the worst. Aliden Forest has no leader, and few stories ever travel in or out of the strange, magical Aliden Barrier that reaches around the entire forest. This barrier has no noticeable effects on those that cross it, but it has developed a mythos of not being safe.
