The Shorn Coast

The eastern coast of the Dark Continent is less of a shore and more of a termination of land. The Scourging cleft an ancient landmass in twain, producing what is now the Midlands. Hewn so dramatically from its antiquarian home, there are few beaches on the Shorn Coast, leading to few notable ports or harbors. Instead, there is a large cliff that runs on and on for hundreds of miles, stretching from the delta at the mouth of the Tyne down to the heart of the frontier where it tapers off and becomes more coast-like. That is not to say that there are NO places where ships can make landfall, as what were once valleys and ravines now provide valuable docking points for vessels traveling the Boreal sea.   These rare ports are watched over by the regions' ruling power Ourus, whose naval might wards Sableheim from pirates and Azon scouting expeditions. They also defend the Tyne Delta from encroachment.   Off the is a smattering of small islands, often difficult to reach and resupply due to the unpredictable nature of the Ur-Storm. The small communities that make their home on these harsh islands are referred to as the "Toils", after the legendarily elusive island called Lei Fon's Toil.
