Manastone
Manastone is the magical ore which most magic users power their spells with. The ore-veins are very rare and can only be found in a few select locations. It is believed that manastone originates from fallen stars.
Due to ever increasing demand for manastone, many veins have been completely mined out. To combat this problem the Salian monarchs started an extensive project setting up mining colonies in the inhospitable regions east of Salia were the veins are mostly untouched.
Properties
Physical & Chemical Properties
Manastone is a translucent crystal with reality-bending properties. The light itself seems to bend into weird shapes around the crystals, and some supposedly hear whispering voices when in close proximity to manastone. It is warm to the touch and a weak rhythmic beating can be felt when holding the crystal.
Geology & Geography
Manastone is very rare but can be found in small quantities all around Salia. The highest concentration of manastone is found in the countryside surrounding the city of Starfell, or the eastern wastes. Ore-veins are often found quite close to the surface.
History & Usage

When using manastone to fuel magic the user must consume the ore. Manastone may also be used as decoration or worn as jewelry.
Refinement
