Alderdyfi
On the banks of the Friol (“Sparkling”) river, Alderdyfi was founded by Conistonians escaping the faction war in search of a simpler life. The travelers camped by the river due to its fertile nature, and while camping there discovered that the river contained gems (hence the river’s name), and elected to build their settlement here. The town grew, and is now known for its export of gems (generally lower value) and gourds.
