Polypi (octopus)

Polypi are an interesting phenomenon, and they currently occupy the title of "second most intelligent genus on the planet". These creatures possess (on average) eight tentacles centered around a bulk blob that processes food and long-term information. all other details are so variable that I cannot detail further without specifying the species of an individual polypus. Officially the spelling 'polypuses' is regarded as cacophonous by the locals, and has faced little resistance on the path to full removal from civil discourse.
