The Yaud-Aez Counting House

Deep within the Shaytan Rift lurks the counting house of Yaud and Aez. Nobody, perhaps not even the chairman of this institution, know just how deep down this ancient vault descends. What the employees and their customers do know is that the house is the centre of power within the Shaytan rift.

The early days of the the Shaytan rift were tumultuous and unstable. The government that were trying to form didn't have the resources to control their population and police the boundary lines both. the House came in as saviours offering loans to pay for a mercenary army, sourced by the House of course, and once they had established themselves they began to replace other aspects of the infrastructure of the Rift.

The ruling council of Shaytan weren't fool enough to miss the danger this represented and have managed to curb the House and their ambitions but not entirely. The council is stil in considerable debt and are still subsidising many of the civic works that keep the city running. In recent events a law passed would have prevented coin being hoarded in one place to avoid the negative consequence of the Rift Laws of Shaytan was stopped. Nobody involved would admit the involvement of the House, but everyone knows the truth.

Deep inside the vault in the parts that are half-forgotten ancient stockpiles of coins formed from Iron, Bone and Stone waits. There is a good reason coins are not gathered together in the rift. The greed and dark malice that dwells within each congeals together and grows. This vile force is waiting to be rediscovered and as it expands it is beginning to touch upon the upper vaults and attract the attention of people who know well the power coin.
