Essence scorched lands

Essnce scorched lands or curse lands as some might call it are all over Sacia. It is the reason the Lareans came to Oasis and the land that the Elkir live in is one such land.
This happens due to the use of essence manipulation. More specifically it is the product of way too much light essence existing in one place with no where to go. This happens when a magician draws upon too much essence from their core or elements. Failing to cast the spell or simply stopping channeling it can leave a lot of essence in one place with no place to go.In extreme cases, there are miles upon miles of land that is filled with light essence. This Will lead to the land itself becoming an element.  This the land cant handle as this much light essence will try to attach itself to something that can harbour the light essence, however when it is too much it will end up burning what it is trying to attach itself to. Grass and plants are usually what light essence wants to attach itself to. This is why it is rare to find plants in curse lands.

Manifestation

Black earth, smoke rising from places in the earth where plants tried to grow. Water still exists but not roots so the lakes expand and the land shrinks. landslides are common.
