The Golden Wyrmling

The premier (and only) inn in the village of Deepburrow, The Golden Wyrmling is famous around the region for being the sole place to stay for those who prefer blankets and beds over mud and leaves. Owned by the enigmatic yet carefree condentil Alafir, the food and drink are called "superb" by Deepburrow's inhabitants. Visitors often beg to differ.

Purpose / Function

The Golden Wyrmling acts as the one and only place for travelers to stay and eat for miles around, which has resulted in its becoming a sort of hub of travel in the northwest Sildan Forest. It was originally built by the condentil and humans living in the Sildan Forest to serve as a meeting place and in-between zone for the two groups, but as Deepburrow rose around it and the Sildan elves retreated further inland, the Golden Wyrmling shifted its purpose into that of an inn and tavern.

Alterations

Originally meant to be the meeting place for the elves and humans in the Sildan Forest, the Golden Wyrmling's name was once the Ariyn word for "meeting place," but human pronunciation and interpretation changed it to the Silcircle. Once the elves began to leave the region, Alafir built on top of the Silcircle's structure and constructed an inn. Since then, he has added a small wing to accommodate more patrons, expanding the tavern section and adding more rooms.

Architecture

The Golden Wyrmling is a remarkably simple structure; walls and roof made of darkly colored, simple, sturdy planks, the building stands on top of a cobblestone basement in an L-shape. Its roof, a simplistic A-frame, is adorned by a couple of dormers and a rickety chimney.  With its 49-year history and Alafir's apparent negligence, Deepburrow's local inn's paintjob has completely faded away and the building gets shabbier every day.

History

The Silcircle was a simple place made to be a halfway point between the humans and elves living in the Sildan Forest and long acted as the center of a sort of neutral ground, and was established around the beginning of Ardom's War, in 1374 AA. For nearly 150 years it served its purpose, but when the Sildan elves began to migrate towards the Elatine Towers and Malan Mountains, humans began to build Deepburrow around it, and the condentil Alafir constructed the Golden Wyrmling on top of the Silcircle in 1507 AA.
