Erantor

A species from the planet Agarto that somewhat resemble tusked sauropod dinosaurs covered in vines and flowers. They range from about 17-22 meters from head to tail. A few million years ago, Erantor were solitary creatures with no society, only coming together to mate. This changed when a large amount of them were infected by a species of Oruun plant. The chemicals emitted by the plants caused the Erantor to form into groups, and they quickly formed tribes. Today, Erantor are known as one of the friendliest species in the galaxy, driven by the ancient urge to spread their plant parasites.   The Erantor and their Oruun plants have a symbiotic relationship; the Erantor serves as a host while the Oruun allows the Erantor to cooperate with others. They also share nutrients with each other. The two are entwined biologically, with the Oruun attaching seedlings to the egg cells of female Erantor. These Oruun are pollinated as normal, but have lost the ability to spread seeds any other way. In times of famine, the Oruun will be partially digested to allow the Erantor to live longer, and will also share sugar produced through photosynthesis.
