Demons

On Runeterra, the term "Demon" encompasses all fiends. The people of Runeterra may refer to demon and devils interchangeably, having no understanding of the difference between one born of the spirit realm and one created by another entity.

Created Demons

These demonic creatures were created by some powerful entity, such as a greater demon or a powerful spellcaster. They are made either with the byproduct of other demons or using raw materials from the Shadowfell.

Lesser Demons

Known as Azakana or Loumara, these are the lowest level of demons born from the Shadowfell. They are parasitic entities with immaterial bodies that hone in on a single person's fear or shortcoming, and absorb negative emotions until they kill the host. During this time, they may influence their host to propagate this emotion in others to create a more stable feeding ground for themselves. Once they've devoured enough energy to maintain a permanent body, they are considered greater demons.

Greater Demons

Greater demons, or Tanar'ri, are creatures of ill intent and utter cruelty. They see living beings as food and toys to be savagely abused until they are devoured or discarded. Some develop personalities and interact with the world around them to feed whatever vice they embody while others are more primeval, seeking to kill until they are sated.

Ten Kings

A race of the most ancient and powerful demons in all of Runeterra, tales of the Ten Kings have been passed for so long that many wonder if they are even real.
