Freljordians

The Freljord is a harsh and unforgiving land. Proud and fiercely independent, its people are born warriors, with a strong raiding culture. While there are many individual tribes within the Freljord, the battle lines are being drawn in a three-way civil war that will determine the future of them all. One tribe unflinchingly honors the traditions that have ensured its survival; another follows the dream of a united future, as foretold by a young idealist; while the third worships the power of an enigmatic sorceress.

Avarosan

The Avarosan are those whom are loyal to Ashe Ashe. While others war, Ashe works day and night to establish a single alliance throughout the Freljord. They are an agglomeration of progressive tribes that believe in diplomacy through the teachings of Avarosa. They dwell mostly in the slightly warmer regions, and many settlements under their banner are agrarian.   • Ability Score Increase: Your Charisma score increases by 1.   • Alignment: While trying to unite the Freljord with peaceful methods, the Avarosans are lawful-good.   • Ashes example: You know the Guidance cantrip.   • Diplomats: Whenever you roll a Charisma (Persuasion) check, roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the total ability check.   • Handlers: You gain proficiency in Persuasion and Insight.

Frostguard

The Frostguard dwell hidden beneath an eternal winter, deep in the ruins of the ancient Freljord. They live among the ancient ruins to the far north, protecting their leader Lissandra as she watches over the Howling Abyss. A cult shrouded in secrecy, the Frostguard archive of all Freljords archaic history. Though seemingly peaceful, the truth of the Frostguard's allegiance is far more disturbing. The world had forgotten the terrible enemy that ruled the Freljord long ago and was cast into the depths of the Howling Abyss following a long and brutal battle. And now, whilst the ignorant sleep, Lissandra keeps the Watchers at bay and plots to rule over all of Runeterra. Even so, missionaries and healers from the cult are common throughout the Freljord. The trolls and their king, Trundle, have allied themselves with Lissandra, while Nunu temporarily lived among the Frostguard.   • Ability Score Increase: Your Intelligence score increases by 1.   • Alignment: The vast majority of the Frostguard-tribe is lawful-evil.   • Archivers: Whenever you make an Intelligence (History) or an Ability Check involving Calligrapher's Supplies, you can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the total ability check.   • Lissandras teachings: You know the frostbite cantrip.   • Magical scribes: If you have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic class feature, the spells on the Mark of Scribing Spells table are added to the spell list of your Spellcasting class.

Winter's Claw

Death stalks the Freljord in a thousand guises—with fangs, blades, numbing frostbite, and bitter starvation. To survive is to fight every death, crush every threat, steal every advantage, and each new dawn brings a choice to the Winter's Claw: do whatever it takes to survive, or die.   • Ability Score Increase: Your strength score increases by 1.   • Alignment: In their fight for survival, the winter's claw is lawful-neutral.   • Fleet of Foot: Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.   • Sejuanis resolve: When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.   • Survival instincts: You have proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Stealth and Survival.
