Heroes of the Past

There are only rumors and legends of the heroes of the time before the Burning - some names that have floated down through the ages that might be found in a dusty tome of fables.
A few of those stories mention a dwarf named Boris, though in some stories he is a gnome.
Other stories mention a Goliath named Kevia and a great white wolf named Balto. In fact, there are stories that Balto's spirit roams the lands still.
One story speaks of a mission taken on by Kevia, Boris, and another dwarf named Twerkin. They were sent on a mission to find and destroy the evil wizard Aginor, his and his companion and guardian Kronk (the orc). There is another mysterious figure who is mentioned in some versions of this story - a demon - Promise the Undying. Some say that Aginor gained his powers through a pact with the demon. Others say the demon intervened and saved Aginor from the others which led to a great calamity. There are few that believe that Promise is not a demon at all but rather was the truest of the heroes.
These stories have mostly faded to legend. They are unknown to all but the must studious of librarians... and ... the Promised. There is a small cult of believers who believe that Promise is still alive and that she will return when needed most.
