Queen of Athelia, Vennac Marshal in the East (a.k.a. The Horse Queen, the Bolt upon the Horizon, Mother Unicorn, and Matriarch of the Steppes)
The hunters and huntresses all gathered at the location they had promised. Resting on their banks or hanging off the flanks of their mounts were the prey they had hunted. They exchanged quizzical looks. "Where is Lady Catheric," one of them asked. There was not too much concern. Catheric was a fine huntress. There were few creatures that prowled the steppes that could trouble the Queen. Before they could turn their horses around or form search parties they spotted her appearing over a hill. She was not mounted on her steed. Her subjects looked and then bowed their heads. Their horses too lowered their heads in reverence. Catheric trotted towards them. She was mounted on the most sacred of mounts. An all white Unicorn, a complete rarity in Athelia. A creature of great importance but one many felt they would never see in their lifetimes. "What's with all the bowing," Catheric smiled. "It's just another horse. Just someone slapped a horn on it and called it a day."

Personal history
Heather Catheric is the Queen of Athelia and the latest to hold the Darcassian title of Vennac Marshal in the East. She is the daughter of the previous Queen, Agadai Catheric. Like her mother, and her mother's mother before her they have mockingly been called the Apologist Dynasty due to the Catheric line's long standing alliance with the Darcassians and their Martocrats.
Heather took the throne at the age of 25, when her aging mother Agadai stepped down. The Tribal Calling was held and with some dissent Heather was elected as Queen over Athelia. Her position was made official by the Martocrat appointing her Vennac Marshal in the East. The twin titles Heather holds are controversial. Some Athelians resent the rule of the Darcassians while others like Heather see the value in staying a part of the Empire.
From her capital in Triseta, Heather holds court. She is often bombarded with complaints from tribal chiefs insulting her loyalty to the Darcassians. Like her mother, Heather shrugs off such insults though many note that the normally lax and carefree Heather has lashed out at times. A couple duels have even been issued challenging her leadership though never followed through as Heather is as much a warrior queen as those before her.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Shortly after her coronation Heather and friends rode out on a hunting party to celebrate. Heather split off from her companions. When she returned she was present on a rare, sacred sight. Heather had managed to find and tame a Unicorn, rejoining her party mounted on the majestic beast. It is a rare sight for an Athelian to find let alone tame a Unicorn. For many of Heather's supporters (and to the relief of the Darcassians) this was a sure sign, whether from the Gods or as a stroke of luck, that Heather is the perfect choice to lead and represent her people.
This deed led some to refer to Heather as 'Mother Unicorn.'
