Esther Zedrag

Blank eyed Esther watched the passing procession of Imperial Vennacti. Banners flapping, armor and weapons glistening. It was the perfect time for a parade. The blizzard had let up and now only a light breeze whistled through the streets. There were a few snowflakes as usual, some occasionally falling onto the tongue of her little brother Nathan. He can afford to not pay attention.
"Are you enjoying yourself Esther?"
Zolon glanced at her. He nodded to the troops below.
"Pay attention to the pin point precision of the marching troops. The orientation and organization of the ranks. What do you have to say about such drill?"
Esther peered over the railing. "Well... it sure is organized?"
"Based on the banners what kind of troops do you think they are?"
She took another look.
"Dwarves. Longer barrels on the rifles. Short, squat." She waved a hand. "What exactly are you trying to get out of me?"
Zolon smiled but sat down in his chair.
Esther leaned back and whipped out her fan. They could spend the rest of the day like this. Slumped in chairs and disappointed.

Personal history

A member of Noble House Zedrag, Esther is the eldest daughter of Lumira and Zolon Zedrag, the High Commandant of the Imperial Vennacti. Her other family includes her grandfather Tyresias Zedrag and her younger half brother Nathan.
Since the War of Zealots and Martyrs, the Zedrag family have been allies and supporters of the Darcassian Empire. Since Darcassia's destruction the family has been on the frontlines, producing a line of decorated military men and women. Esther is the latest in a line that boasts of its military excellence.
Yet Esther has shown no interest in her family legacy. More inclined to rebellious indifference, Zolon has struggled to convince his daughter of her destiny of continuing his political and military career. Close friends and observers wonder if perhaps the family's future lies in Zolon's son instead of Esther.

Education

Esther is currently being groomed for an officer position like her father. She is enrolled in the Ampholi Military Academy where she studies logistics, military strategies, and combined arms warfare.
