Chapestow

The town neighboring the Moonlight Marshes is an insignificant one. Not known for anything except its physical appearance, Chapestow is certainly a quaint little town with equally quaint folk- their buildings half submerged in a mossy blanket. Additionally surrounded by knotted grey trees from the swamp, the town's only entrance is a road to the north and southeast (they're dirt roads mind you). The only reason one might go here would be because of their lawless background, seeing as there's one of the kingdom's prisons located underground.

Demographics

In terms of demographics, you can most often see traveling merchants of various kinds pass through this settlement. The village square has modified itself for this purpose, as one can immediately see when entering Chapestow's walls. Otherwise, there are a few settled merchants that run essential pawn stores and grocers. Otherwise, most folk make their living supporting the main attraction- the prison. Whether it be to grow food for the occupants, blacksmiths chains, or sewing basic sacks for a prisoner to wear, everyone puts into the underground cells. In terms of race, it isn't uncommon to see the passing orc or goblin, making their way towards Vibrait with illegal goods. Otherwise, humans litter the half-inhabited buildings along with their more half-race counterparts. It would be odd to see Phazân-ġimm (sun elves) or well dressed folk on the land- with an exception of very official business.

Government

It is odd that while one of the ruthless prisons in the region resides here, there lacks a rigorous law system. Of course, if someone commits a murder, you aren't far from cell doors- there even is a local judge to persecute if need be. Meanwhile, the wellness of the village is run by Lord Loopmottin, a small gnome woman who oversees all.
