Character Creation Guide
To create your character follow these steps: Step 1: Accessing the Foundry VTT Server
- Go to https://rondo.freemyip.com:30000/join.
- Select your username or choose "Guest" if you haven’t been assigned a name yet by the DM.
- Once logged in, navigate to the top right corner and select Actor.
Step 2: Selecting a Character Sheet
- In the Actors tab, you’ll find spare character sheets labelled with numbers.
- Pick one of the available sheets to start building your character.
- Once you open the sheet, you will see a basic character template.
Step 3: Character Creation If this is your first time playing D&D 5e, we recommend asking a friend or the DM for guidance on creating a character. However, if you are already familiar with the process, continue with the following steps:
- Go tohttps://2014.5e.tools/statgen.html#pointbuy and choose your Ability scores. then enter them into your Character sheet.
- Select “Level Up” at the top right of the character sheet and click Confirm to start the process.( just select confirm at the bottom).
- Choose a Class for your character. Make sure to take average hit points unless instructed otherwise by the DM.
- Select your proficiencies, which may include skills, saving throws, and tools based on your class and background.
- Select your starting equipment from the list provided.
- If your class is a spellcaster, choose your spells. Drag them from the compendium into your spell list.
- To continue leveling up your character, click "Level Up" again and follow the prompts to level your character to the desired level.
- If you want to level multiple times at once, you can select the number of levels after choosing the class and apply them in one go.
- If you need to add items, feats, or spells, go to the top
- right corner and click on the three dots (menu).
- Select "Plutonium Import" from the menu.
- On the left side, choose the type of item you need:
- For spells, select Spells.
- For feats, select Feats.
- For items, select Items.
- Develop your character's backstory, where did you come from and where will you go? Talk to your DM on campaign-specific restrictions or if you have ideas on how to tie yourself into the campaign. E.G. have the BBEG steal your cat or other nefarious things.
- Choose 6 magic items that you want, consulting the internet for ideas. Inform your DM of your choices, as they will roll the dice to determine if you find the items and their cost.
- Decide on a key element of your backstory to form a strong connection with, such as your race, class, faction, place of origin, or history. Consider how this element shapes your identity and guides your decision-making. Consider the various pantheons of gods and choose which faction you will worship. You can choose a specific pantheon or a particular deity within that pantheon. If you are agnostic, you do not necessarily disbelieve in the existence of gods but rather feel that they have no impact on your life. If you have a religious background it is vitally important to choose.
- Review the lore for each class to find one that fits your character. If there is not enough detail in the existing class lore, ask your DM for additional information. If none of the existing class lore fits your character, consider creating your own class lore . Alternatively, you can discuss the possibility of creating new class lore with your DM to reflect your character's personality and goals better.
After completing these steps, your character should be ready for play. Review your sheet to ensure everything is correct (abilities, spells, items, etc.), and don't hesitate to contact the DM if you encounter any issues during this process.
- Rondo is a low magic setting, with medium lethality across the region. Specific locations may vary in lethality. The level of your character will depend on the campaign. Refer to the campaign details for more information.
- If you want to multiclass, talk to the DM about it first. As fun RP is great! Min Maxed BS less so.
- Your character will start with 500 + 1d10 * 25 in money, plus their starting equipment.
- Magic items can be acquired through a system that simulates pre-adventure acquisitions and can be incorporated into your backstory. The DM will roll twice to determine if you find the item and its cost. You may look for 6 magic items, either the same item multiple times or a combination of different items.
- The chance of finding the items and their cost are based on the table below.
- PS. Magic armour is the cost of the original plus the cost of magic enchantment. PPS Cast off armour is also Cast on.

- Make sure your character has a reasonable reason for being in the same rough area as the group, and for wanting to stay with the group for an extended period of time. They should also fit in well with the group dynamic and follow the rules of the campaign.
- Consider your character's final words or thoughts in the event of their death, and their personal quest and goals in life. What is their tie to the group and how do they fit into the campaign's story?
