1st Mate Log #9 - Illisk Lost
We survived. I’m not sure how much more there is to say on that matter. The planet crumbled, we retrieved the object Isaac sought, and we survived. After being repeatedly dismayed at the options provided, there seems to be a glimmer of hope. The polyhedron can be sold. It can be out of our possession and secure enough money to set us all op for a life outside of this treachery. This is what Bjorn says he wants for us. Isha knows if it can happen, but it’s nice to dream. There is so much standing in our way.
Simon was becoming a bigger problem than even I had anticipated. After rumors and whispers floated about the crew’s restlessness about him speaking through the PA, Captain held a meeting. I’ll say I was more than dismayed at Rasp’s reaction of shooting one of our senior officers over his concerns about the Procession of the Damned. I understand we can’t afford mutiny, but is this the way to handle it? I stood stock still and watched at the rest back away, thinking of my own tenuous relationship with the tech-priest. I had my own reservations about going there. The reaches of the fabric of time and fate surrounding that place are not to be trifled with. I was thankful when reason was triumphant, and Simon was sent out on the lander. We are FINALLY rid of Simon. Relief was short lived as we negotiated where to go next. Bjorn and I both seem to understand that our nightmares are not imaginary figments but more omens. If we do not attend to these things, who knows what ripple effect it will have on us all. As Captain shared his plan to draw the orcs to fight the chaos brewing, I thought it seemed the best course of action were it not across the expanse from us. Months of travel awaited us back at least since we have not decided what to do with the accursed object we imploded the dead planet for. I’m both surprised and thankful that we headed to Demaris. It is on this planet that the Spear of Khaine is waiting. My vision did not reveal its exact whereabouts, but someone here must know something. We are an unlikely crew to be wandering around an imperial planet under siege. I fear that our mixed company will gain ire and hinder our mission. This is the way to defeat she who thirsts. This is the way to preserve my race. This is the way to prevent the unification we discovered on Solace Encarmine. So many of our troubles could be solved, if we find the spear and make it off this Imperium planet intact.
