After a swift fight and interrogation, the group kill a local gang member outside the Moore House

The group arrive at a large open plaza in front of a burnt-out two storey house. A strange shambling figure emerges from the house and heads down a road across from the group.

Bruiser steps out to follow the figure, but two thugs step out to block his way. After a tense standoff, a fight ensues.

Hilda is badly hurt, but Sprocket and Bruiser easily overpower the men. One of the thugs, Errol, runs away. Sprocket strangles the other thug, Herold, until he answers their questions about the disappearances. He reveals that:

  • His gang (the Rude Boys, led by Arthur) were employed by "little and big guys in hoods" to guard the entrance to the Moore House

  • They have never been inside it or up close to the shambling figure that lives there

  • They know it leaves alone every night and returns early each morning dragging someone

  • Bruiser then kills the defenceless Herold by breaking his skull open with his club, and the group heads inside.
