Nests of Fatu
In the Northern Mountain range, shepherds use a series of plateaus to let their sheep roam. The plateaus are cold and harsh winds blow disallow the growth of trees or crops.
In the middle of each platea stands a rocky structure next to which the shepherds find some shelter from the winds. Those daring enough to climb the structures will find that they are hollow on the inside. Each structure holds a set of two to seven boulders in the form of enormous eggs. Those who have touched them swear that they are still warm.
People believe that the boulders are the eggs of the Fatu, bird like weather spirits who make the mountains and plateaus inhospitable and unaccessible in winter.
Geography
The grassland plateaus give a clear view over the surroundings. Harsh winds keep the sky clear. Surrounding the foot of the plateaus a few kilometers of vertile lands and forests stretch out towards the mountains whose peaks glint white even is the high of summer.
Ecosystem Cycles
Snow falls long before it starts to truly freeze, protecting the diverse species of grass from the frost. In winter no animal will be seen on the plateaus.
In Spring the melting snow water reinvigorate the land allowing for a large diversity of plants to grow.
From spring until autumn the plateaus are full of birds and insects. Even in the high of summer the plateaus are full of live despite the heat of the sun.
