Royal Factors and Mercenaries

In times of war, Grakis has had great need of mercenaries for various tasks, and so a process has been put in place by which such Crown-sponsored contracts might be filled. Traveling along a well-defined route to various towns, roadhouses, and villages, the Factors offer, negotiate, and pay contracts on behalf of the Crown. They bear the same status as nobility and are often protected by Ebon Thorn knights.

After the Battle of Angrath

The Factors retain their roles as intermediaries between mercenaries and the Crown, even if the Crown now belongs to the Bloody Hand. Instead of Ebon Thorns, they are often seen with Bloody Fingers.
